Make a practical inventory of your devices
Keep track of the devices and files that matter to your household.
Name each important device
List your phone, computer, tablet and any device holding important photographs or records. Give each a recognisable label. Add its usual location and the name of the person who can help with technical questions.
Explain what is stored there
Describe the important folders or services used on the device. You can identify family photographs, work records or personal projects without copying private files into a planning note.
Keep access instructions separate
Do not place unlock codes or recovery keys in an ordinary device entry. Record where authorised recovery instructions are managed. A password manager and the device provider may have their own access arrangements.
Remember replacement devices
When you replace or sell a device, update the inventory and check your backups. Remove outdated locations. LastConnect device records organise information; they do not remotely unlock devices or transfer files.
